We approached our Next 25 Keynote design with one goal in mind: let’s go bigger, wider, and bolder while remaining uniquely Google, and ensuring our on-site execution matches our load in time constraints.
This came to life with a design that fully maximized the height, width, and lighting footprint of the Michelob Ultra Arena, pushing the Google Cloud brand narrative of ideas without limits.
A central content screen expanded laterally, revealing a dynamic composition of mixed planes and media. Our side screens iterated out to an abstracted N-E-X-T lighting sculpture stage left and right. The central content screen flowed down into an LED stage floor, allowing the movement of content between planes.
Speakers were immersed within a fully dimensional environment—framed by layered scenic backdrops, enveloped in lighting from above, and punctuated by unexpected visual moments from below.
Then, we took it further. Between Day 1 and Day 2, the entire stage underwent a bold physical transformation. Our main stage broke apart, with a portion of it physically moving out into the audience. This movement created a new satellite stage amongst the audience for Day 2.
As part of this transition, we also repositioned our cameras to refresh the broadcast visuals, and introduced a new aerial camera above the satellite stage. This overhead, wrestling-style shot showcased our LED stage content and added unexpected emphasis to speaker walk-ons.
The dramatic shift not only surprised and re-engaged the audience, but also redefined what's possible in a multi-day experience.
And with less than 4 days from feet on the ground to speaker rehearsals, the set was all executed with the energy and precision of a rock-and-roll-style load-in.
